Responsibilities:

  • Creating and pitching the core concept to potential team members and industry alumni.

  • Designing character movement, enemy AI and all related systems.

  • Leading the team in core vision and tracking production.

  • Designing, testing and iterating the two playable levels.

Cardbound is a 3D platformer set in a world of children's arts & crafts, players navigate through a world of cardboard, pipe-cleaners and popsicle sticks as Snip, the loveable paper cut-out.

 

Cardbound was developed as our team's final project while studying my Advanced Diploma of Game Design & Production at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment, Melbourne. Having pitched the original concept, I adopted the role of project lead and learned several valuable lessons about leadership alongside the lessons of the game's design.

At the conclusion of the game's development, Cardbound garnered some minor attention; with several youtube playthroughs, itch.io downloads and a spot showcasing the game at a local bar's industry showcase nights.
